Baby and toddler room – Baby club
It’s safe to say as a family we’re fans of MSC Virtuosa. Having never cruised MSC before, after the pandemic MSC were the only cruise line accepting children who weren’t vaccinated. This rule changed quickly, but as a family we were desperate to get away. Needless to say we booked our first MSC cruise and have loved travelling with them since. We have done 7 cruises on the Virtuosa in the last 2yrs.
The kids club is included in your cruise fare. We have loved the staff and also what’s onboard for children.
The room for the youngest sailors ages 0-3yrs old is bright and definitely not the biggest we’ve seen. It offers soft play mats and toys for babies, along with a range of toys and colouring activities as well. The colourful blocks on the wall, can be removed to use for climbing or additional seating in the room.
There’s also a microwave and sink we found really useful, for the early weaning stages as well as a low height sink.
For those children who are on the road to toilet training, there is a low height toilet, along with a change table and sink next door.
MSC could definitely do with adding a few extra toys, or ensuring the ones they have are well maintained. But overall my little one has had no issues and I think it was only us as parents who noticed bits missing. He was unsure at first with the sessions here, but soon warmed up to them and loved playing with the youth staff onboard.
If you’re little needs a quick change, both nappies and wipes are stored with the change table. These have come in handy on more than one occasion. If there aren’t any nappies out, the crew on the desk will be happy to help.
Sessions
MSC offer two different session types from 0-3yrs, both services are free of charge.
Baby time – is a service that allows parents or guardians to stay and play with their children.
Baby care – Allows parents or guardians to leave babies and children with the youth staff in determined time slots through the day. There is a maximum of 15 children allowed in each session. Babies must be at least 6 months old to be left in baby care. Staff will page you if your little one is upset or needs a change.
Session times (from our last cruise)
Session times may change, but these are generally the times we saw.
